I've had a couple of questions about the writing assignment that is due next Monday.
Do not use the Q&A format. Write it in third-person narrative, as you would find in a published news story.
And regarding how to refer to people (first or last names), use the AP Stylebook as your guide (p. 162)
Also, I'd like you to be aware of press coverage of the Republican National Convention this week and come to class prepared to talk a little bit about whether coverage has been fair or slanted, the quality of news judgment in what stories have covered, and how you generally view press coverage of the RNC event. I will look forward to hearing your observations on news judgments.
