Liberty University launches publishing company
Liberty University has announced the launch of a full-service publishing company. Liberty University Press offers benefits that many traditional publishing houses do not, including allowing authors to retain all rights to their work, according to officials for the Lynchburg, Va., Christian school.
Utilizing "print on demand" technology, Liberty University Press books will be distributed by Ingram and Spring Arbor Distributors in the Christian retail channel.
"Liberty University Press offers university faculty as well as authors in the wider evangelical community the opportunity to write on a wide array of subjects that expand the frontiers of knowledge for both scholarly and general audiences," Liberty University Provost Boyd C. Rist said. "This is a significant milestone in the development of Liberty University."
The school was founded by Moral Majority founder and author Jerry Falwell, who died last year at age 73.
