Strang Launches Two Digital Editions

Strang launches two digital magazine editions

The Strang Magazine Group is expanding its audience with new digital editions of two of its leading titles.

In addition to their normal print circulations, the November/December issue of Ministry Today and the January edition of Charisma magazine will each be sent to a further 100,000 people in digital form.

The e-mail distributions are part of Strang Magazine Group's plan to develop new readership through electronic and online channels, said Consumer Advertising Director Chris Barch, who noted that the initiative was "a great way to provide advertisers with more value and a higher rate of return."

The 110-page November/December issue of Ministry Today for those in church leadership includes a cover article on California pastor Francis Chan, a guide to retreat centers for church leaders and a special section on travel to the Holy Land.

"We're already thrilled about the advertiser response for our first digital issue," said Editor Marcus Yoars, noting that the new format was "a win-win for everyone."

"Those whose reading patterns are accustomed to the online environment now have a more cohesive structure that gives a better context for each article than just reading piecemeal," he added. "And for those who still prefer the experience of sitting down with a tangible, hard copy version of the magazine, absolutely nothing changes.

"Ultimately, we're just providing one more option for readers in a digital age in which customization is the standard rather than the exception," Yoars said.

Charisma, the leading magazine of the charismatic movement, will feature a profile of Alaskan Governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in its January issue, with a report on cyberspace "e-vangelism" among other articles.

Editor J. Lee Grady said the digital edition was part of the magazine's "Go Global" initiative aimed at drawing more international readers. "By increasing our digital subscriber base, we believe Charisma will be able to excel even more in being a voice to the international Christian community," he said.

Part of Strang Communications based in Lake Mary, Fla., the Strang Magazine Group publishes Christian Retailing in addition to Charisma and Ministry Today as well as three other titles.
